A Glimpse at Life in Studio City

Bryan Abrams - Thursday, August 13, 2009
Studio City got its name thanks to Mack Sennet, who came to this area from Edendale, located near Echo Park. He brought with him the Mack Sennet Studios, and began shooting "The Keystone Cops" and "Oh-You-Kid Bathing Beauties". The arrival of the Mack Sennet Studios was followed by the first ever airstrip and traffic light in Studio City. The Mack Sennet Studios went by several names over a period of years - Mascot Pictures Studios, Republic Pictures Studios and MTM Enterprises Studios - before finally being named CBS Radford Studios.

The name, Studio City, is very appropriate, as several residents are prominent in the film and television industry. Among the notable people living in Studio City are Vin Diesel, Zac Efron, Tori Spelling, William Shatner, Brandon Ratcliff, Teri Hatcher, Jason Alexander, and George Clooney. Needless to say, Studio City has a definite air of exclusivity about it.

When it comes to Studio City real estate, there is no scarcity of choices for people who wish to either buy or rent property. Market conditions are quite favorable now and first time buyers are contacting Studio City realtors to make the most of the situation.

There has been a surge in the number of restaurants cropping up in Studio City recently, including both casual and fine dining options in a variety of cuisines. On a practical level, the primary and secondary schools and other public facilities in Studio City are all top notch, and provide the very best in education and community services. It is easy to see why Studio City property is among the most coveted in the region.
